For the safe conduct of the Alkmaar City Run by Night, several temporary traffic measures will be implemented. The city center and the southern part of Alkmaar will therefore be very limited in accessibility from 7:00 PM. Streets along the race route will be closed 30 minutes before the first runner passes.
We strongly advise participants to walk to the start and finish area via Paardenmarkt (Kanaalkade). Bergerbrug will be closed to all traffic from 5:30 PM due to the start from Molenbuurt.
If you come by bike, do not leave it in the start or finish area. Additional bike parking has been provided at Paardenmarkt, about 150 meters from the start. Please note: use of this bike parking is at your own risk. Preferably, choose locations outside the Singel and the race route so other runners are not hindered. Cyclists coming from Heiloo can most easily use the bike parking at Murmellius Gymnasium.
If you are coming to Alkmaar by car, it is best to park in Overstad or in the nearby streets (Koedijkerstraat, Pettemerstraat, and Jagerstraat). After parking, follow the signs for Centrum / Grote Kerk.
From Alkmaar station, it is less than a 10-minute walk to the start and finish. From there, follow the signs for Centrum / Museum. In addition, there are several bus connections to the city center. For all information about public transport to Alkmaar, visit www.9292.nl
